I am attempting to create a good looking home page but every time I install a theme, the theme’s homepage doesn’t copy over and I’m left with a blank white home page. The theme activates on all of my other pages and looks good, however I’m still stuck with an ugly blank home page.

1. How can I have the theme’s default home page activate as mine (then edit some words/colours/photos to my branding)
2. Alternatively, what’s the best method to create a nice home page? I didn’t think it would be this hard to find tutorials/active a template
