Homepage layout – grouping the h1?

[ad_1]

Hi all, I’m making a custom theme for my MA coursework and was wondering if anyone could help me out. Attaching a pic of the mock-up.

My homepage will have a splitscreen layout, different to the other pages’ layouts, which are more linear with centred page titles.

One issue I’ve come up against is that as the `h1` will be on the left side of the page, it should be in a div with the tagline `p` (‘Resincraft for busy people’). However, on the block editor, it doesn’t seem possible to group these two elements together with the Group Block. My tutor says that h1s can’t be grouped in this way.

What would be the best way to tackle this? Should I make a separate homepage template that has a `<div>` around the `h1`, then pull in a post that just contains `<p>Resincraft for busy people</p>` ?

I’d really appreciate any thoughts on this topic. I’m a complete newbie to WP, and appreciate it’s a steep learning curve. Thanks very much.
