The web3 industry is throwing billions of dollars to recruit talent. You can find some of the highest paying jobs available in the tech industry. Then there are grants and bounties for those who don’t want a traditional job, or might just want to experiment.
You might be thinking:
>But blockchain developers are quite a bit more advanced than your average WordPress developer.
So the question is..
**How can a WordPress developer become a web3 developer?**
Here’s how I became a blockchain developer-
I installed a WordPress plug-in called [Unlock Protocol]).
It only took a couple of days to figure out how to deploy locks on it using a crypto wallet.
Then I applied for a grant through Unlock Protocol, and I got it.
**That’s all it takes to turn a WordPress site into a dApp? (decentralized app)**
Not quite. The stack I use is called [Roots]). I would suggest using it if you want to transform your WordPress site into an app.
I’ve built a pre-configured version of it, with a theme and all the plugins needed. It’s the full LEMP stack. It’s open source, so you can literally steal it, make some tweaks, use it to build a web3 membership site, or apply for your own grants or bounties.
I’ve put together a list of the top 25 grants, and a notion template you can use for the application process.
**I’m here to answer any questions or comments anyone has.**
