How can I improve the search function of WordPress?

[ad_1]

Title.

My site is getting bigger and bigger, and I noticed the search results are less relevant, I guess because the default setting for WordPress is to show the results sorted by date, not the relevance. Like if it founds a single matching word in the content of a newly published article it will display it instead of another article that has the searched word in the content and URL but it’s older.

I found this plugin, Relevanssi, which sounds promising. Has anyone tried?

  1. Yes, Relavanssi is worth checking out. I’ve used it on a few sites and it definitely provides a better search experience generally speaking

  2. Depending on the features you’re after and the requirements you have, you could take a look at Algolia too. It’s designed to scale as your site grows without impacting user experience and performance.

  3. Prolly one of the best searches for wp is here

Made by 10up who really knows their shit in WP.
