How can I make a minimal triangle audio player out of the Divi audio player (or is there a better approach)?

I want to play short snippets of audio from a landing page of a Divi themed WP site. The stock Divi player is nice, but has unnecessary elements (audio controls, timeline). All I want is a triangle that turns into a stop button, or a triangle next to a stop button. Thoughts? (and thanks in advance!).
