How Can I Use WordPress.org for Free?

[ad_1]

Hi everyone,

I’m interested in creating a website using WordPress.org, but I’m on a tight budget and looking for ways to do it for free. I’ve read that WordPress.org itself is free, but I’m aware there are costs associated with hosting and domains. Is there any way to set up and run a WordPress.org site without spending any money?

I’m particularly looking for advice on:

1. **Free Hosting Options:** Are there any reliable free hosting services that support WordPress.org? What are the limitations I should be aware of?
2. **Free Domain Solutions:** Is it possible to get a free domain, and if so, what are the best options? I’m okay with using a subdomain if necessary.

Thanks in advance for your help!

  1. If you’re comfortable with servers & bit of backend/coding, you can try to setup “headless wordpress” that will convert your php/mysql into static html pages, which can then be hosted on free hosting like Netlify or Vercel – try searching “headless wordpress on Netlify.” But I doubt you’ll find any totally free php/mysql servers for normal style WordPress.

  2. Generally, no. Hosting and domains cost money. They are not generally offered for free, at least not in a way you would want.
