How Do 2 Domains on WordPress Present?

[ad_1]

Hi peoples! Thanks for your time today. I have a blog but I’d like to change the domain. I can add a second domain so both addresses work. My concern is that this will muddle the SEO. With that, if I add the second domain, will it allow me to start publishing the new posts under the new domain only so I can potentially phase out the original domain? How would this look in WordPress? Or, if I publish a post it will automatically be published with 2 domain names, hence muddling the SEO? Thank you!

  1. 2 domains same content means duplicate content. So, rather than phasing out the first, you will need to 301 redirect domain 1 to domain 2 and maintain the redirect. It will help retain the seo juice. There will be a phase of traffic decline but some weeks later, it will start returning. Keeping 2 domains for one website is not SEO friendly. Just rename the website and 301 redirect all urls to new domain. Inform Google about site move. In a few months, Google will have indexed all new links and backlinks and traffic will have stabilized to the former level.
