How do I allow visitors to upload images to my media library?

[ad_1]

I am creating a website for my wedding so that guests can upload images directly to the image library from which I will display a gallery. I have been trying to figure out how to add an image uploader for hours and can’t seem to find something that is free. Any suggestions?

I know the first thing is security, so I’ve added a password to access the site, which will be displayed on each table with the QR code for the site.

  1. I’m not 100% sure if there is a plugin that will automatically take a post from a user and then automatically put them in a gallery. You would probably need to write some code to make a posting plugin and then a separate gallery plugin work with each other. I believe Envira gallery may be able to pull certain tagged posts but that plugin is not free.

  2. That’s a big security risk so your options are limited without a professional web dev. You can set up a form with a file upload field. But as far as piping them right into your media library that will be a pretty big concern security wise so i wouldn’t do that. Many form plugins will send you an email with the files uploaded as an attachment. Probably best to review the photos submitted through the forms and just upload them yourself to your media library by hand.
