How do I delete the tagline “My new WordPress website”?

[ad_1]

Anyone know why a WordPress site automatically includes “My new WordPress website” as a tagline (which then appears in a Google search result)? Is this a Google issue or a WordPress issue? If WordPress, how do I resolve it? It overrides the tagline that we need to use (for branding purposes) and which I’ve designated in every relevant WP setting. What’s the point of even offering a “tagline” option in any WP setting if it’s not going to be able to be used. It’s embarrassing to have this override reveal for an eCommerce site. It undermines our ability to assert credibilty. We noticed that we’re not the only ones to suffer from this. A Google search for “My new WordPress website” reveals lots of others who’ve been highjacked. We’re not in business to promote WordPress so we’d like to get it removed as quickly as possible. Any insight is appreciated!
