How do I make my wordpress website go live?

[ad_1]

I've worked myself into a mess here. I started w/ WordPress.com for my domain and hosting. Then I hired a gentleman on Fiverr to build my website. He built it under WordPress.org 6.6.1 So now I go through the WordPress.org dashboard to edit and view the pages. But I cannot find a button to click to make the website go live. Its currently showing the "coming soon" page.

Do I need to publish this through the WordPress.com dashboard or is it in the WordPress.org dashboard?

  1. Log In to WordPress.com

Go to WordPress.com and log in with your credentials.

    2. Access Your Site’s Dashboard

From the WordPress.com dashboard, navigate to the site you want to make live.

    3. Publish Your Site

Go to Site Settings: Click on the “My Site” menu, then navigate to “Settings”.

Set Your Site to Public: Under the “Site Visibility” section, ensure your site is set to “Public”. If it’s set to “Private” or “Hidden”, change it to “Public” so everyone can see your site.

    4. Confirm Your Domain Settings

Check Domain Mapping: If you have a custom domain, make sure it is correctly mapped to your WordPress.com site.

Go to “My Site” > “Manage” > “Domains”.

Ensure that your domain is set as the primary domain.

Verify that the domain settings and DNS records are correctly pointing to WordPress.com.

    5. Publish or Update Content

Review Content: Make sure all the content you want to be visible is published.

Publish Pages and Posts: Go to “Site” > “Pages” or “Posts” and ensure all necessary pages and posts are published.

    6. Clear Caches

If your site doesn’t appear live immediately, try clearing your browser cache or use a different browser to check.

    7. Check Site Status

Visit your domain in a web browser to see if the site is now live. If you still encounter issues, check the site’s visibility settings again or contact WordPress.com support for assistance.

  2. This is probably a coming soon plugin activated on the site. Find the plugin and deactivate it, and the coming soon page will be gone. If you can’t find the plugin, then the developer probably used custom code to add it, and you might need a developer to look at it.

  3. You seem confused with [wordpress.com](http://wordpress.com) and wordpress.org. The later is a script installed on your hosting server to have functionality of the first.

Ask the freelancer you hired to clear your questions and guide you. He is the right person to make you understand.

If you have content at [wp.com](http://wp.com), you can move that content to your domain with wp script installed on it.

  4. Go to settings-> reading. Click on static home page and set the page you want. If that doesnt work hmu
