hi, my question might not be phrased well.
Essentially, I'm a UX UI designer working my friend's website. I've always had more complex custom projects.
Small team of 2:
- me as UX/UI designer (not familiar with WordPress) using Figma
- client's personal assistant who made the current website (that no longer fits the needs, is also familiar with WordPress, eager to learn, NOT A DEV, will take care of implementation
Project
- Sticking with WordPress because of time, budget, familiarity and found a template we will purchase as a starting point!
- The website is like for a acrobatic festival essentially the structure is like conference event (1 for now, will be scaled in the future for 2-3 conferences/year)
Process:
- found a good template we will purchase to work off from WordPress that fits the client's needs
- I want to work in Figma to be able to play with designs, test, etc it doesn't have to be pixel perfect and spacing may already be fine in WordPress
Questions:
- Since WordPress templates do not typically come with a Figma working file, and recreating all those components is a waste of time in Figma, how would you go about doing this since you are using wordpress & figma?
- Or is there an easy builder I could use with the wordpress template and I just go ahead and go in there myself to create the website instead of the other person (who's not a dev, but is familiar with wordpress) – I'm not sure if this is an uphill battle for me to learn but if there is no easy way to get this going on Figma, it might be the option – also I need to focus on design and either way I will need to at a minimum sketch ideas out, Figma helps me keep focused in my lane as a UX UI designer and follow a style guide even if basic
thanks
