My friend made an account on WordPress and then bought a domain through that. I’m building a website for them. Ideally I wanted to code the markup myself by modifying the theme and making a custom theme. So that I can decide how big the fonts are, the color of the titles, the layout, etc.
So to create a custom theme, you need to either install a plugin for that or gain access to the file system (which is also enabled by a FTP plugin) right?
Turns out that only people who are on the business plan of WordPress can install plugins.
Are you serious? That’s the highest plan. Are you seriously telling me that I can’t even change the color of headings just because my friend is not using the business plan of WordPress?
What other option do I have? Do I just have to transfer that domain to another host and ask my friend to pay for a subscription for that new host?
