How do you feel if a backup plugin can access your personal Google Drive? Isn’t it incredibly risky that a bad actor accesses your Google Drive?

I see it so many times, backups are done not locally on the server, but offsite (which is good). However, I see many aim for the personal storage providers e.g. Google Drive, One Drive, Dropbox.

Technically this is a more expensive storage. But I get it, it’s also about convenience.

But do I really want to give access the my Google Drive that contains half of my life?

What can go wrong? Could access to my Google Drive be established if a bad actor is involved? e.g. the client site gets hacked, and the hacker can access other backups on Google Drive of other clients or even my own personal data?

How realistic and risky is this?

I tried to stay away from using Google Drive / Dropbox as backup storage at all costs so far. But I am facing other issues with storage providers, and I see some new backup plugins like Everest Backup completely focus first on Google Drive and other consumer-oriented storage providers
