How do you set up proper file permissions to prevent 403 errors?

I've been having the same issue over and over again with 403 errors on a client's WordPress site. I think these errors are due to file permission settings that aren't configured correctly, and it's blocking access to content for not just users but also Googlebot, which will inevitably affect the whole site's SEO. So, what are some "quick fixes"?

I've been using agency's articles trying to fix it myself, and I see that 403 errors happen when the server permissions are too restrictive or incorrectly set, which prevents access to website files. So I've tried adjusting these settings myself, but I don't think I've done it right since the problem is still there.

So, please tell me how to set up file permissions correctly in WordPress or what the recommended settings should be. Thanks a lot!
