I am a web designer who hand codes pages with with js libraries like gsap and three.js.
When making the site into wordpress I normally just paste the code of static pages into the code editor in classic wordpress after enqueuing the styles and scripts.
Is this the “right” way of doing things?
I’ve tried page builders like elementor but I feel it doesn’t afford me the freedom that I can have with hand coding.
I hope this is not a stupid question but, how would you approach this?

Hi Time, I’m also an old school coder/ site designer since 1998 too. (No js though).
I haven’t used Elementor, but I think it’s supposed to be as robust as Divi, where you can make pages that are as close to sites I used to make with hand written code as well.
Putting in your code isn’t quite how it works. You build your layouts and everything in WordPress.. in the theme of choice, I would use Divi. Elementor may be able to make your Desktop/mobile design.. Then after that, you can plug in any of your custom scripted codes that you made for whatever it is. But note: Lots of free plugins are out there for wordpress that may do what you may have scripted from scratch. You just have to search for them. Lots have reviews and are updated recently.
Hopefully, you can figure it all out and make something cool.
