I have been having an extremely irritating issue with my website for several months that I have not been able to pin down the cause of. A few weeks ago I created a staging site with Duplicator to try and finally find the problem, but discovered that certain aspects of the clone were not exactly the same, including the issue I was trying to investigate that did not occur on the clone!
Hence the title of this post, as I need an absolutely exact copy (other than the actual urls) so that the issue can be investigated. Incidentally, even after making changes manually to make the clone as true a clone as I could the issue still didn’t occur. The clone needs to be able to link to some third party services (OneSignal, Stripe, GatewayAPI and possibly others) in case these are somehow involved in causing the issue, as well as the PWA for WP plugin even though in my previous tests when eliminating those plugins the issue still occurred.
If you want a background on the issue, and why it is so tricky to investigate, I asked for help in this thread in Fixing WordPress – – and if anyone reading this looks at that and has had a similar problem, PLEASE tell me anything you can about your experience, or even better if you managed to find and fix the problem (the specific page linked on that thread now doesn’t exist in case anyone clicks on it – it correctly shows our 404 page). As you can probably tell, this has been driving me crazy, so any helpful comments are welcome, but please note I have been through ALL recommended troubleshooting methods and have been in regular contact with my host, who are just as puzzled as I am. I am almost at the point where I will have to nuke the site and do a complete rebuild but that is literally, and obviously, the last thing I want to have to do. It almost feels like the installation is cursed!
