I was trying to find out which one is more suitable. As I have once read 1150px is the best way to go. Or maybe 1148px.
While searching on Google, I found an article literally mentioning all pixels and ranking 4th in search results.
My Keyword: "1150px for website"
Dunno why but 1200 just feels right for me, for regular pages at least. For blog articles I tend to use around 800 width to make sure that the article is easier to read (less characters per line)
My choice is depends on design which client approved.
Usually its 1250px, 1200px, 1170px, and even 950px sometime
