How much should I charge for an e-commerce site?

[ad_1]

I’m a student (11th grade), and this will be my first ever WordPress/e-commerce site. I watched some tutorials, and I think I can learn it pretty quickly. I’ve been programming for 7 years in various languages, but this is entirely new for me, so I don’t know anything about how much time will it take to learn it, and to build an e-commerce website.

The site would be for a local company, literally two streets down from my house, and my school. They have about 160 products, and the site wouldn’t need any form of payment integration, because everything is negotiated, based on the quantity (they only sell to big customers). At first, I thought I’d charge 200€ for my work + hosting + the Flatsome theme (60$). But as I researched the topic of how much should I charge, I got confused very quickly. Some said anywhere from 1000$ to 10 000$, and some said between 15$-40$ hourly. I live in Serbia, and the average payment monthly is about 400$. I don’t want to be greedy, but I also don’t want to undervalue my work.

So my final question is this: Should I charge an hourly rate, or should I go for a fixed price? And in either case, how much should I charge (based on my situation described above)?

  1. 200 is nothing, you will soon see that there is a lot of work around this even tho it is “simple work” and “without payments integration”

In Serbia, we usually charge a 900 fixed fee per shop as a base plus between 3-5 per added product and other addons we charge separately.

In any case, you should not charge anything below 1000.
