How secure are private posts from the public internet?

[ad_1]

I love WP and have been using it for almost eight years off and on now. I wouldn’t say I’m an expert, but definitely more in the advanced understanding of the backend and overall platform.

Since WP is such a well understood medium to me, I’d like to make a blog for more personal/journal type posts. Obviously this is not content I’d like shared publicly to search engines and anyone stumbling upon the blog. **So, how secure are pages/posts that are restricted to logged in users? For example, could a bot still crawl the MySQL database and find the contents of private posts?**

Another solution I have thought is self-hosting the WP instance on my machine, however the ability to post and view past posts from my phone or other personal devices is really appealing. Would appreciate any considerations of the security/privacy level a WP instance can provide. Thanks.
