I have a WordPress site (using the Kadence theme) nearing the end of pre-launch development and want to offer access to the front-end only for some user testing and invite-only feedback.
The site currently is behind a ‘coming soon’ page.
I tried creating a subscriber-level user profile with a username and password, but using that to log in only gave access to a limited backend and just defaulted to the coming soon page on the front end.
Any idea how I can set this up so I can give a couple dozen folks access to the frontend only? I’m certainly open to removing the coming soon page but the site isn’t ready for general access so I’d need to have it behind a password of some sort.
Again, it’s just to have some pre-launch tire-kicking and user feedback we can use to correct any issues we’ve overlooked and see if we’ve hit the mark on our goals for the initial launch of the site.
Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions!
(I do have the **Temporary Login Without Password** plugin and have used it successfully for allowing folks hop on the backend for various development help projects – but its more of a backend access type thing, as far as I’m aware. Doesn’t really work for this use case.)
