How to Create a Fade-Out Effect During Page Transitions?

Hi everyone,

I’m working on improving the user experience on my website and I’m looking to implement a fade-out effect when users click on a link. Instead of the page abruptly changing to a white flash, I’d like to have a smooth black fade-out effect.

Has anyone here implemented something like this? I’d love to hear about any methods, libraries, or code snippets (No plugin) that could help achieve this effect. Any tips or best practices would be greatly appreciated!

Also, I’m curious about page transitions in general. Do you think having page transitions enhances user experience, or is it something that might be more of a hindrance than a help? I’m interested in hearing your thoughts and experiences on this.
