How to create post categories/ how to add Custom Post Type to nav menu (CPT UI plugin)

[ad_1]

I’m looking for a way to create categories of posts on my site, so that when I click on an item in the main nav menu, it’ll take me to a page which lists all posts according to a certain category. I’ve tried using the Category function to do this, but the downside is that the word “category” shows up in the slug – e.g [www.examplesite.com/category/aboutus]) . The default “Pages” also don’t seem to allow for this sort of categorisation, as I’ve only found a way to manually add posts underneath a page, and not for them to be automatically sorted.

I tried using the CPT UI plugin to create a Custom Post type that’s similar to a “category” or page for posts to go under. This seemed to work, as I now have the option to add posts directly under that category (image1 ). However, when I try to add this CPT to the main menu, it will only let me add individual posts that sit under that CPT, and not the CPT itself (image 2)

Would appreciate any tips here!! Thanks.
