How to deal with like page names?

[ad_1]

Something I run into often, there is a news release section, and an events section. I’m tasked with putting up a news release for example, new event coming called “dog days”, but I also need to put the same event under the events section.

URLs:
website/news-release/dog-days/
website/events/dog-days/

WordPress, and search engines don’t like this at all. I typically add “news” for the news release “dog-days-news”, but it still gets flagged as a search engine error.

Is there a better way to handle this issues?

  1. I don’t think this is a real issue if your posts are configured properly.

    However:

    – The event could have the date in it.
    – The news release should have a title and permalink like *CompanyName Announces 2024 Dog Days Summer Event* or something of that nature.
