How to edit client site using WP-engine?

Hi there!

I have been using WordPress to make easy simple landing pages, now I got a client that want's me to redesign his large website.

I usually just ask clients to give me editor access with my mail, but this client wants me to install WP locally and edit it, he is suggesting to use WP engine, this is completely new for me.

One of his messages was:
We’re ready to provide SSH/SFTP access to your team.

And then:
Regarding the development environment, we use WP Engine for our WordPress setup and prefer to keep everything managed within that platform.

Is there any tutorials you would recommend? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
