How to get basic data about site visits for personal blog/site (WordPress on Dreamhost)?

[ad_1]

Hello! I use WordPress hosted on Dreamhost for a simple personal blog/site, but I would really like to have an idea how many visits are happening (and ideally, by page/post).

I use WordPress, but can’t find any such thing built into the interface for my blog/site, so I’m just curious if there’s a simple way to get basic info on visitors?

(Nothing fancy needed. This is all personal and non-profit and I only want basics. Ideally without paying a subscription, but a small one-time fee for software or service would be fine.)

  1. Google Analytics, or write a very simple plugin that just increments count each time an endpoint you want to track is hit

  2. Google Analytics with custom events or if you prefer GDPR compliant tools there’s UserMaven or Fathom.
