Hello,
So I’m from Canada. I have an online store based in Canada. I own both the .com and .ca domains. But now I want to get into the United States. What’s the best method to have my website ready for the American audience?
Should I keep the websites separate. .ca for Canada and .com for the states? Does this mean I need to duplicate my website on two domains?
Or second method, can I have the .com and then when Canadian users come there is a en-ca or whatever in the domain detecting a Canadian user and then the website is in CAD currency? If so, how the heck do I do this!
Also, if I do this second option can I change some details on the website that only Americans would see. For example on my website it says “standard shipping across Canada” for the American one can I write something unique to the Canadian site. OR do I need to write the website so that both Canadians and Americans see the same thing?
Thank you for the help! Please let me know what are my best options.

I’d recommend keeping the one site – one less thing to manage. But switch to using the .com domain for a more global appearance.
There are numerous plugins that handle multi-country pricing:

Shipping is built into Woocommerce. As far as having message specific to countries, I’m sure there will be plugin for that too.
