How to migrate and sanitize content formats?

[ad_1]

I've got a personal wordpress site that I've had for years and years (and years) that has, for better or for worse, gone with me through a lot of design principles: writing in HTML, writing in Markdown, tried Elementor for a while, Thesis, probably Genesis somewhere in there along with some development stuff of my own.

The result is that my site has to have bits and pieces of all of this, or else things don't render – and there are things that don't render well because I got tired of having them around.

What I'd love to do is export ALL of the content in some sort of One Format To Rule Them All (HTML would be FINE, really) and then reimport back in in that one format, and simplify everything. (Ideally, I'd write in asciidoctor, but that seems to just Not Be Done in WordPress-land, although I haven't looked recently; markdown is the next best thing, I guess, in that I can write blocks in HTML at need but still use Markdown's more fluid syntax.)

Is there a way? Is there a workable/good Asciidoc/Asciidoctor renderer out there now?
