I’m finally making the switch to Cloudways from Bluehost, because yikes. Anyways, I want to migrate my existing site from an old backup file using sftp. I attempted this already after setting up my server, then installing WP. I copied the folder of the site and placed it in the public html folder. However, the site didn’t take. WP is installed in the location of the server. So my question is, what is the right way to import an entire WP site when you only have a local copy of the site (entire site files)? I’m doing something wrong.

You’re missing the database. But don’t worry, there’s a much easier way to migrate a site.
