How to modify an existing site that is already live with staging

[ad_1]

Hello everyone,

I have a question for the community regarding the management of a situation where a client requests partial or complete editing and restyling of their live WordPress site.

I’ve conducted some research and identified several plugins (like WP Staging) that allow the creation of a staging environment for a live WordPress site, but unfortunately, they are all paid if you want to push staging to production.

I’ve also observed that hosting providers like Bluehost and SiteGround offer staging environments. Does this imply maintaining two separate WordPress sites, one for production and one for staging? Can you push the changes from staging to production?

Another approach I’ve considered is cloning the live WordPress site, making edits on a local machine, and then migrating the changes back to the live site with the updated version, but I feel isn’t that good as a process.

I’m seeking insights into the best practices for handling the staging process in such scenarios. Can you advise or pointing through some tutorials/documentation?
