I have a number of PDFs for sale on my domain that I just realised are showing up in Google searches. I don’t want the general public to see these files, but I can’t find an option in the media/attachment pages to hide them from anyone who isn’t the purchaser or has the direct link?

Using an SEO plugin you could set them to noindex
