I have an email newsletter hosted on mailerlite, and a website/landing page to sign up for the newsletter on wordpress. Like morningbrew, I want to add a referral structure in the email that gives rewards after a reader gets a certain amount of people to sign up (i.e., 5 signups = branded hat). Sparkloop right now is $100/month, and other tools are also rather expensive.
I’m thinking about using some kind of WordPress plugin, where I can add a link in my newsletter to my wordpress page, and the user enters their email to generate a unique referral code for themselves, where they can then send it out to others. Maybe also add a “Share via Twitter/SMS/etc). This would technically be bypassing the newsletter service alltogether.
I recognize there’s more friction this way, but I’d assume there’s some kind of WP plugin that handles this. Thanks!
