I have a rent a webserver from all inkl. And i did sth. Stupid. The client has for example the domain with the old ugly website
example-site.com
And i thought while they unsubscribe the old crap and send me the transfer auth code for the domain i used another example domain.
example.com.
Now the site is perfect but iam not sure if everything will fully work if i just go to my ftp client.
And say “copy/move or just move” everything from
example.com to the path of example-site.com.
Chat gpt told me i could export the site and get a xml file.
But one lousy xml file of course cant contain ALL the elementor things, all the videos, photos, theme, custom css, some plugins.
If i have to rebuild this website it will be a lot of work.
And the worst thing is, the domain i chose is way better than the old domain. He already has printed stuff with example-site.com … and doesnt want to change the name
You could use a plugin to move all the data to the other domain. There are various options for this. One that I frequently use is duplicator.
