I can’t access my wordpress domain through WIFI, I can through mobile data/VPN.

Hello, So yesterday I have bought a domain and managed wordpress hosting on [Krystal.uk]).

Before I added the domain, I could access the wordpress dashboard without any issues through the hosting’s domain. However, as soon as I added my domain I could not access it. I thought that it was because the SSL certificate was pending. However, I contacted Krystal support and they told me that I had to change the nameservers as the domain and their onyx were not connected and to wait 30 mins. I did and nothing was working. I flushed the dns, cleared caches.

The “Deceptive site ahead” window opens up only once in a while, it only showed up maybe around 5-6 times out of hundred. The website is accessible on the mobile data, VPN, and my friends from different country can access it. The friends that live nearby and use the same ISP cannot as it occurs with the DNS\_PROBE\_FINISHED\_NXDOMAIN error all the time.
I have contacted krystal support and they said it looks like everything is fine on their end as they showed me screenshots that it works for them. I contacted ISP and they said the same thing (they even read the sample page info as proof).

Any ideas on what should I do? Looking forward to your replies.

  1. My wife and I have experienced the same issue repeatedly, resulting in our IP address being blocked every time:

    – by hosting’s firewall system, OR
    – our own antivirus firewall.

To resolve the issue, we needed to either request the hosting service to unblock us from their mod_security firewall, or add our IP to the whitelist on our firewall.

In the past, we encountered an issue that we were unable to resolve. To address the problem, we decided to disconnect our cable modem overnight, which resulted in the assignment of a new dynamic IP address. This approach resolved the issue at hand. 🙂

  2. If you have just added a domain, it can take time for this update to propagate around the internets DNS servers. This might be why some people are seeing it and some not. For example, your mobile data will use a different DNS server to your ISP for example.
