I like elementor, but there are concerns in the page loading speed. I have seen videos where the bricks editor is having more optimized code and layout? – is this true, should i be moving my client websites to bricks builder?

Yes Bricks is better. You’ll have to rebuild the websites in Bricks, you can’t easily move them from elementor to Bricks. Switch to Bricks for new customer builds.
Yes, i have heard it too. You can learn bricks and build future websites with it.
Carbon Fields.
Page builders always load more styling than they need to, have deeper elements resulting in poorer content to html ratio and are generally just bad. Things like elementor are designed for average joe to build a website that looks passable.
If you want an actual well performing website, acf and a custom template or custom blocks is the way to go. Or at the very least a theme which has good blocks predefined and doesn’t have huge style sheets.
Switching tools only becuase of the page speed is not a good enough reason. The amount of effort required to re-create the pages are too high compared to the benefit. Try to configure your server, caching and CDN system properly. The difference would be just a couple of miliseconds.
