Still cannot understand why there is not a newsletter feature nor a comment subscribe.
All other CMS/system allow this without any problem.
Plenty of plugins to make this work. Not everyone needs it (I’m constantly disabling the comments site-wide) so I don’t see why it should be included in core. But that’s just my 2 cents.
Newsletter feature would never come to free version of WordPress.
It would be impossible to keep IP reputation good and it costs a lot to send emails with good reputation servers.
