I need a gravity form auto save solution for a 5+ page form that doesn’t require being registered/logged in.

I have a form for a client that is 5+ pages. Currently, I have made it have a save and continue progress based on gravity forms elite which allows the save and continue progress feature.

I also made it that the user has to register and click a verification link that goes to their email address.. but some users are saying the emails are not arriving and/or are going into their spam mail.

My options so far seem like:

a) Turn off the requirement of being registered and logged in to complete the form

b) Use Gravity Wiz’s auto save feature (which I am not 100% sure will allow someone not logged in to save their data) (Gravity wiz makes extensions/perks for gravity forms and one of them is an auto save perk)

c) Do you have another idea that would work for gravity forms?

Thanks,

  1. There used to be a plugin that would save the form data in cookies so the info would be stored whenever the user comes back, exactly what you’re looking for. It hasn’t been updated in many years so it doesn’t work unfortunately and I don’t see any other alternatives to what you mentioned in your post.

  2. You should just setup your email server properly with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC so emails that your website sends out don’t get red flagged and blocked or spammed.

You could also setup something like sendgrid, send in blue, mailgun, etc, any of the other SMTP middleware options.
