i need some help.. picture/size/loading time

Hey guys,

i need some help to understand what probably i didn't get so far.

I'm doing some test , i made a copy of one page i have,

replaced all thumbnails of the image carousel with small 400×400 , 35kb pictures ( when user click on it will load full quality picture )

now i made a test with the various tool online and OLD page and NEW page

have basically the same SIZE .. which is impossible right?

if the original page have the image carousel with normal picture only ( bigger size )

and the exact copy have as a difference a media carousel with preview being a 400×400 35kb picture

size should be less.

second question:

is it worth to do this? I have a second version of original picture with lower size and so lower dimension?

am i missing something?

I have many doubts but i'd love to start removing them or i won't go on.

Also if i load with elementor one picture and i set IMAGE RESOLUTION to Medium – Thumbnail

the page will still load the full resolution picture or a smaller version created byt elementor?will that save some loading time?
