I use flywheel by local, is there another way to develop locally?

I usually download a backup of production and drop it into flywheel. This works pretty well, but I’ve had no luck on windows.

I’d also love to be able to run all this on Linux. Are there any resources as to how to do this so I can understand the full LAMP stack top to bottom?
