I just bought a domain for my Wix blog but don’t want to subscribe to their service to connect it. I began looking into [Wordpress.](https://Wordpress.org)com as an alternative and was met with the general consensus that [Wordpress.org]) is better. However, I don’t know much about creating a website and would prefer to keep this rather low maintenance. I do like that [Wordpress.org]) is cheaper with A2 hosting but I still know nothing about maintaining a website and can’t tell if I am in over my head here. Any advice would help, thanks.

[Wordpress.org]) is the organisation which is behind the Free CMS WordPress. [Wordpress.com]) is very missleading and is just a very in my opinion bad Hosting Service.
You can go for a Cheap shared Hosting like A2, but as a Owner of a german WordPress Management Agency i can only give you the advice to go either very cheap and make errors and learn or go a bit higher with the budget but get serious.

If you have to ask, you *are* in over your head unless you enjoy tinkering and want the freedom to tinker and accept having to set it up yourself in order to enjoy that freedom.
Otherwise pick a hosted platform – Squarespace, Webflow, Duda – anything where maintenance is not your responsibility.
