I Was Brought Onto A Team At Work To Help A WordPress Developed Site Succeed – But I’m A WordPress Novice…

[ad_1]

**The Site**

I’ve recently joined a team within my digital marketing agency that specialises in creating tech industry businesses.

Our agency has started to create a few of these businesses, but the project that I’ve recently joined seems to have the most promise because the idea is so good and well supported – plus we’ve had a few sales already.

The project is a website monitoring application, that updates site owners if their page’s live status is interrupted via text and email in real-time.

The website is called [https://sitewatcher.co/])

**Early Success – But I Can’t Help But Wonder If It Could Be Better?**

We’re crediting SiteWatcher’s initial success to the WordPress-generated design’s simplicity. People aren’t intimidated by overcomplicated tech jargon like the similar services out there are advertising.

SiteWatcher simply ensures that you’ll be the first person to know when your site goes down. No bull.

But… because the WordPress page is so simple however, and ALL of our truly successful competitors opt to go into such detail, I wonder if my first stamp on influencing the success of this project, is to suggest that we include more features on the site, that explain our product in more depth?

Here’s the problem. I have a business mind, but I’m a novice WordPress editor (at best). I don’t have the experience or status in the group to make design suggestions worth listening to.

**Help Me Surpass The Rank Of WordPress Novice**

So – in a bold move, I’m going to try and recreate the site on my own and document my learnings.

Note that the site I make, isn’t intended to be published and replace the current site as the business’ point of sales.

My hope along this journey from ‘Novice’ to hopefully become at least an ‘Intermediate’ WordPress designer, will not only be a great opportunity for me to learn the platform from potentially hundreds of WordPress experts in this community, but also a way for other WordPress novices or aspiring entrepreneurs to learn a thing or two as well.

All responses are welcomed, and I look forward to updating my progress!
