I’d really like to build a website like pcpartpicker (PCP) where someone could make a rifle/gear build, check for compatibility problems, get prices, and purchase through affiliate links just like PCP. I’m not afraid to hire a dev in the future (if things go well enough) but I’d like to build it myself as a proof of concept before bringing more people in. Can I build a website like PCP with no coding experience? Is there a template I can buy for WordPress that will get me most of the way there? It doesn’t have to be 1:1.

You’re going to need to have a decent technical background to do this in wordpress.
You could give it a shot locally (with localwp.com) first using a theme, Woocommerce and their Composite Products plugin
