if i delete a widget on an individual post, will the widget be deleted across the site?

i’m going to back to work on a site i built a while back using wordpress and there is a lot i dont know.

im looking back at my notes and it looks like i had gone to appearance-> widgets -> main sidebar to show recent posts on every post page.

but there are some posts where i dont want to show this side widget. i was wondering, when i create a new post where i dont want the widget, if i just x out the side bar on the post editing page, will that remove the widget from every post on the site? or just the widget from that particular post?
