There are a thousand articles and videos about how to move/hide the wp-admin login page, but I cannot find anything that talks about what to do if you have a membership site where users have to be able to log in.
Does that mean that anyone just always has access to the the same login form that I use to into my account? Or is it possible so that the public facing one would not allow access even with the correct credentials, and my login area will be on a hidden url?

That probably depends on what membership plugin you are using. But I would think it was uncommon (or impossible) for a plugin to use the regular WP admin login.
For for example, MemberPress has a toggle where you set what you want to be the login page:
Users wouldn’t use your WP admin login page.
