We work in a hotel, and the boss contracted someone to make the website (via WP) for him several years ago. This person left and is too busy (so says the boss…) to tweak anything. I don’t know, maybe he just doesn’t want to pay.
He’s asked me to look into the website, knowing that I know absolutely nothing…I told him I’d just look at it, and that he’d better just hire a person who actually knows something about it. This is purely for my personal interest, it’s not any skin off my back if the hotel contracts a professional like it should.
Anyway, it has to do with our booking engine (that our clients use to book). The business who supplies us this engine sent us an email saying that we need to update it. This is the email:
>I’m sending you the attached files of the booking engine to include in the root folder of your hosting website. This is the easiest way to update the booking engine of your website.
>
>To run the booking engine once you have the files in the root folder you have to access the URL of the “reservations.html” file.
>
>This URL can be linked to the “BOOK” button on your website so that customers can access the booking engine by clicking on that button.
1. First up, straight up, is this something that someone like me – I repeat – I’m here for cleaning and taking reservations – can even do? Like, is it obvious to find the root folder and put the attached files in there? Because if not, I’m not even going to bother touching anything.
