This is a recent issue. My website designer set this up for my business a few months ago, I only have a vague knowledge for WordPress. He set it up with Elementor, it also has the free version of Yoast SEO.
I do recall setting an image and subtitle to pop up when posting the URL on social media, specifically Facebook. A few days ago, the image stopped appearing in the link preview. The subtitle and title still appear. I cannot figure out where this would be changed. We never had the premium Yoast, so I can’t imagine this is a paid feature. Any help would be appreciated

Go to the Yoast SEO > Settings > Site Basics and edit the site image – that will act as the fallback if you do not have an image selected for the post/page’s image
