Image replacement

[ad_1]

Hi,
I hope this finds you well, I'm been having a little problem with image uploading for a while and wondering if there's a solution to it.
I'm putting it in scenario: I upload an image i made in illustrator to the wordpress but after uploading it, I realized a mistake and want to make some changes to it.
I made the change in illustrator and when i save it on my pc i replace it with previous file (The first upload) Now when i upload that file (edited file) to wordpress, It always shows the previous image meaning it doesn't show that change at all.
I always have to change the names of that file or image before uploading it to wordpress.
If you get this, can you provide any solution to it?
Thank You.

  1. wordpress doesn’t overwrite existing files by default. if there is already a file called image.jpg, and you upload a new image.jpg, the new one will be renamed image-1.jpg.

so you will have to either delete the original image before uploading the new one, or change the references in your posts and pages to the new image (select the image and then click “replace”), or upload though ftp/sftp so the original gets overwritten. out of these, the second approach (replace image in the editor) is recommended.

the plugin suggested in another comment is a good solution as well.
