I had a similar problem. When I looked in the plugin settings under the advanced tab (I guess that’s new?), there was no option checked, though it should be at least “any device”.
Before I had the idea to check the settings, I was looking in my taxonomy settings and there were no images uploaded anymore, so I reuploaded/reassigned(?) the images again.
Maybe if I had checked “any device” first, it wouldn’t have been necessary.
So if you haven’t already, check the advanced tab.
And for the developer: It would be nice if by default “any device” would be automatically checked!

But as you said, now I have to reassign all the images that were set before 🙁
@ksenax sorry about that, we have found the bug and fixed it, just uploaded the fixed version, please do update your plugin to latest version. No, you don’t need to reassign all the images that were set before, just update the plugin to latest version and you should be good to go with your previous settings.
