Images disappearing from articles when tables are active

[ad_1]

Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

I can’t seem to spot anything wrong on this page. I do see images on the right side (looking like casinos ads to me?) without problems. Or where exactly are images missing? Can you maybe provide a “before”/”after” screenshot (or rather “without table” and “with table”)?

Regards,
Tobias

Thanks for the reply! Ah, sorry. I should have mentioned this! I actually mean images inside the actual articles. Here is an article without a table – https://test.consoleob.com/?p=40389

See how the image gallery is showing at the top of the page? These disappear if I insert a table.

Hope this helps.

Just a quick follow-up, I have now inserted a table into the same article, https://test.consoleob.com/?p=40389

The images have now disappeared, but will return as soon as I remove the table shortcode.

Again, hope this helps!

Hi,

thanks for the explanation! I can confirm this, but I don’t really see why it happens. It seems to be some JavaScript thing though.

Therefore, a quick solution should to uncheck the “Use Visitor Features” in the “Table Features for Site Visitors” section on the “Edit” screen of the table (ID 66) that you added to this page. As the individual features are turned off anyways, that will then tell TablePress to not load its JavaScript code on the page.

Tobias

Hi Tobias,

Thank you for your help, although this sadly hasn’t sorted the issue. I can see the images attempting to load, but they just don’t appear.

Have you got any more ideas please?

Thanks again!

Hi again Tobias

Just a quick follow-up. I think I have sorted it! As you were talking about Javascript, I unticked “Defer Non-Essential JavaScript” in the Jetpack plugin and the images are loading now!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction 🙂

Hi,

great to hear that you found this! Yes, this setting should definitely have an influence here.

However, I actually don’t yet understand why TablePress tables would be influencing this either…

So to confirm, with this setting turned off, both the table and the images can be used (and are shown) on the page?

Regards,
Tobias

Hi Tobias,

Yes, that is indeed the case! I can confirm this. I currently have the setting off, and both the tables and the images are showing fine! Please see a few examples below:

https://test.consoleob.com/?p=36094

https://test.consoleob.com/?p=36103

https://test.consoleob.com/?p=36083

Hopefully you will eventually find out what is causing this, as I am sure such things can give creators such as yourself a headache when they unexpectedly crop up!

Good luck 🙂

Hi,

thanks for the confirmation!

I would still recommend to uncheck the “Use Visitor Features” in the “Table Features for Site Visitors” section on the “Edit” screen of the tables for which you have turned off the individual features in this section already. This will also increase performance.

Best wishes,
Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
