Is adding WooCommerce later to the website a bad idea ?

I am asking this from a non-dev standpoint. Meaning I would install the plugin and wouldn’t know how to do any code optimization. Would it mess with the theme (Astra).

Just wondering if it would be incredibly slow or mess with the website in general by doing this. But I imagine this would be a case by case situation.
