Is it a good time to start a blog?

I've been wanting to start a blog for a while on a topic I'm deeply passionate about and am really hoping to commit to one within the next week but man, is it confusing as hell. Don't sign up for .com, sign up for .org. You need coding experience, you need this server…

Now I'm reading about how the .org site is having issues. That's what the first few posts on the sub are about.

Is it bad timing to try and start one right now?
